R&B Killa Raheem Devaughn aka “Radio Rah” presents “I Dont Care”

Raheem DeVaughn

Raheem Devaughn has been giving us the business back to back with his radio killers off his latest project “The Love & War Masterpiece”. A masterpiece indeed, the melodic mastermind recently released the album’s second single “I Don’t Care” which has been going crazy on the air – especially in his hometown, the DMV (DC, MD, & VA). “I Don’t Care”, (one of my faves off the album) also comes with a very sexy fun and flirty visual, which was released this week. Mr. Devaughn celebrated the video release this past Thursday at the hot spot “Shadow Room” in Washington, DC.

The whole 368 Music Group fam was in the building and even came with a double treat; the official release of their first artist Phil Ade’s “Hollywood” video (shot and directed by Cool Kids Forever Films). “Hollywood” has also been receiving great reviews and plenty of play from networks such as B.E.T.com, MTV Jams, and Vh1 Soul.  Please don’t hesitate to check out there videos and spread the word. You won’t be disappointed. Promise!

The Power Of Unity: Phil Ade & U.S. Royalty Set The Bar

Phil Ade & U.S. Royalty Perform On Stage For The 1st Time

It was an epic moment last Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington, D.C., as 368 Music Group artist Phil Ade and rock band U.S. royalty joined forces on stage for the first time.  Both acts hit the stage individually and gave phenomenal performances, but it was the joint presentation that really made sparks fly.

The two acts prepared for the show weeks in advance, with an artistic promotional video that showcased a snippet of what they had in store for the actual show.  Although the promo video was very unique and undeniably extraordinary, it did no justice for the live production.  Phil Ade led the show with a brilliant set as usual. It was definitely a moment to capture… so who better to do so then moment catcher/ artist Demont Peekaso, who shared the stage with Phil and created another one of his masterpieces. U.S. royalty followed with a compilation of some of their most enticing songs. The crowd was hype from the start of the show to the finish; reciting the lyrics of both Phil Ade and U.S. Royalty verbatim.

The finale was what really took the crowd to the next level. Phil Ade joined U.S. Royalty on stage to perform their last song together. Their energy was crazy and the chemistry even crazier. “It was a whole different audience for me and like a whole different experience for me, said Phil. They fed me energy and I gave it back to them, I gave them my all. Tore it down man, it was fun!”

Who would have known that combining two different artists with totally different musical backgrounds would create such an impact? It is exactly what the DMV (D.C., MD, VA) area needs more of in order to create an unbreakable pact. The collaboration definitely set the bar for performers in the area, and is sure to become a trend that will hopefully broaden the DMV music scene.

This is prime proof that when individuals who share the same passion come together, the outcome can be electrifying.

“The Heart Of The City”: The DMV Helps Haiti

Published by The Glit under Uncategorized

The DMV Helps Haiti Hip Hop Concert @ 9:30 Club Washington, DC

The DMV Helps Haiti Hip Hop Concert @ 9:30 Club Washington, DC

Last night’s turnout was amazing. Hundreds of supporters coming from as far as Boston packed The 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, all in love for the people of Haiti. The feeling was overwhelming, the generosity and sincerity, true. The DMV’s most reputable hip hop artist graced the stage and performed a few songs each as a contribution to the charitable cause. The lineup included the tri-areas very own Tabi Bonney, Phil Ade, Uptown X.O., Raheem Devaughn, Wale, K-Beta, Don Juan, Paula Campbell, Kingpen Slim, and a few others.

Beautiful paintings by Demont  Peekaso were created on stage as artist performed, and auctioned off later in the show. Words of inspiration and encouragement were given by lifestyle specialist Kenny Burns, Ward 5 D.C. Council member Harry Thomas, Jr., and Rev. Lennox Yearwood of the Hip Hop Caucus.

The show was just the second event of The DMV Helps Haiti project which was started by Yodit Gebreyes (TalkOfDC.com), with the first being an R&B/spoken word/art event at Busboys and Poets in Washington DC the night before.  With just one tweet started by Gebreyes, the idea, supporters and contributors grew bigger and bigger. She collaborated with some of the area’s most influential figures to devise a plan to create the special events to help Haiti. With less than a week to organize, through the help from other kindhearted /significant DMVers such as Candice Mackel, The4thQuater,  9:30 Club staff, Byrd, Anton Alexander and other local publicist and promoters, the first two events were made possible and successful.

Apart from the fact that everyone could stop their own busy lives and unite to make a difference, the most beautiful thing was that 100 percent of the proceeds from food, auctions, entry fees, and employee wages, were donated to helping the victims of dear Haiti. This is only the beginning from the DMV Helps Haiti movement. The group plans to continue to organize events until the country of Haiti is restored back to its normal health.
