Kanye West has one of the most expressive, in-your-face personalities in the music industry, but in his new vid for “Coldest Winter” (808s & Heartbreak) it is clear that artistic expression is first and foremost. Rather than create a vid that features the larger-than-life performer, director Nabil Elderkin decided to film one completely without Ye. The dark and cinematic vid about love and life lost features a woman who is running through a murky, wintery forest in a white dress. Dark hooded reaperesque characters haunt the woman who eventually jumps to her death. The video creates a vivid symbolic depiction of loss for a song that was inspired by the death of Ye’s mother and a break-up.
Rihanna is taking a page out of Kanye’s book and stepping into the publishing world.
Like her big bro Kanye, Rihanna is creating a photo book chronicling her Rated R tour. For this project, she is teaming up with Simon Henwood—creative director for the Rated R tour—to artistically capture performances, backstage highlights, costumes, and more.
The 144-page hardcover, entitled “The Last Girl On Earth,” will be published by Rizzoli New York and is slated for a June 29th release. But while you wait, peep Kanye’s “Glow In The Dark” book.
When you’re Kanye West’s image consulant—you know you’re fresh to death.
Ibn Jasper a.ka Ferrari Murakami is his name.
Kanye's LV Jasper Sneaker
He is a Chicago native, world-class barber, skateboarder, stylist and an image consultant. Yes, this guy has quite a resume. Kanye even named his Louis Vuitton Jasper sneaker after him—that’s how serious he is.
And now, Ibn Jasper has collaborated with Quintin Co. to design a fitted cap to match Kanye’s Louis Vuitton Jasper kicks. The 5 panel cap, offered in Black and Grey, is quilted suede with a tassel on the bill. Ibn Jasper premierd his cap on November 8th at his birthday party, but it was officially released December 15th.
This Chicago native is not forgetting where he came from. The hat is exclusively offered at RSVP Gallery in Chicago and online.
