The Simmons Sisters & Reid Bro's Being Interviewed
A Bit of the New Voices Tour Background
Just in case you have been out of the loop on one of the biggest /latest movements to keep music alive, let me enlighten you. Back in June the music industry’s generation next, Vanessa & Angela Simmons along with Antonio Jr. & Aaron Reid, launched what could possibly be the most promising resolution to bring back music’s authenticity…The New Voices Tour!
While it would have been more than simple to sit back and enjoy the compliments of being heirs to their families’ empires, this tenacious group of moguls in the making decided that they wanted more than simply being known as the sons and daughters of greats. For the Simmons sisters, this will mark the third lone venture, having already tapped into reality TV (Daddy’s Little Girls…spinoff of Run’s House) as well as fashion (Their very own shoe/clothing/lifestyle brand “Pastry”…look out for their new line “Box Of Chocolates” coming soon). As for the Reid bro’s, it was only a matter of time before they walked down the path of their father’s footsteps. Together they have been on the move to continue their families’ legacy with the New Voices Tour, and by the looks of things…so far, so good.

Phil Ade & U.S. Royalty Perform On Stage For The 1st Time
It was an epic moment last Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Rock and Roll Hotel in Washington, D.C., as 368 Music Group artist Phil Ade and rock band U.S. royalty joined forces on stage for the first time. Both acts hit the stage individually and gave phenomenal performances, but it was the joint presentation that really made sparks fly.
The two acts prepared for the show weeks in advance, with an artistic promotional video that showcased a snippet of what they had in store for the actual show. Although the promo video was very unique and undeniably extraordinary, it did no justice for the live production. Phil Ade led the show with a brilliant set as usual. It was definitely a moment to capture… so who better to do so then moment catcher/ artist Demont Peekaso, who shared the stage with Phil and created another one of his masterpieces. U.S. royalty followed with a compilation of some of their most enticing songs. The crowd was hype from the start of the show to the finish; reciting the lyrics of both Phil Ade and U.S. Royalty verbatim.
The finale was what really took the crowd to the next level. Phil Ade joined U.S. Royalty on stage to perform their last song together. Their energy was crazy and the chemistry even crazier. “It was a whole different audience for me and like a whole different experience for me, said Phil. They fed me energy and I gave it back to them, I gave them my all. Tore it down man, it was fun!”
Who would have known that combining two different artists with totally different musical backgrounds would create such an impact? It is exactly what the DMV (D.C., MD, VA) area needs more of in order to create an unbreakable pact. The collaboration definitely set the bar for performers in the area, and is sure to become a trend that will hopefully broaden the DMV music scene.
This is prime proof that when individuals who share the same passion come together, the outcome can be electrifying.
