FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chef Michael M. teams with fellow culinary craftsmen, media personalities and performing artists to present SWEET CHARITY! “Pastry Tasting for Charity”.

New York City – October 27, 2009 - Comfort Zone Cooking Service’s commitment to providing delicious “North Meets South Cuisine” and organizing charitable food events, just got sweeter. This time Chef Michael M., owner of Comfort Zone Cooking, will continue his movement with a star studded red carpet affair. CZC presents its next event, SWEET CHARITY {Pastry Tasting for Charity}, November 22, 2009 from 6:00pm – 12:00am.  This night of philanthropy will be held at 137 Duane St Loft in Tribeca—the former multi-million dollar loft of rap mogul and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records, Damon Dash. An admission price of $25, nonperishable food items, and all other donations will go to Food Bank For New York City.

“In a time of job loss and recession, people are stepping out on faith to pursue their own business ventures and follow their destiny,” says Chef Michael M. His strong concern for the community helped evoke his vision, which was to create a platform to support local businesses and collaborate with other influential community figures to ease the pain of struggling New Yorkers in this desperate time of need. This event will feature local pastry chefs—giving individuals an opportunity to taste an array of sweets just in time to plan their holiday dinners and parties.

Sweet Charity embodies a taste of fashion, a taste of art, and a taste of culture.  The event will premiere new products and feature live music, visual and spoken word, still life and much more.  This mixing pot will undeniably be the most sustainable, tangible, and substantial hopeful charity event that New York City has seen in a long time. Since word got out about this event sponsors have been eager to dig in for a good cause. Some of our co-sponsors and contributors include nationally syndicated, Initiative Radio with Angela McKenzie, talk show host, life and small business coach, Consultant Cory George, and one of New York City’s extraordinary online publication’s “UnVogue Magazine”.

We invite you to partake in this charitable effort to help raise food and money for Food Bank For New York City.

Food Bank For New York City is a charity that works to end hunger; while raising much needed resources for the 1.3 million New Yorkers who rely on food pantries and soup kitchens to meet their daily nutritional needs. In doing so they are increasing access to affordable, nutritious food for low-income New Yorkers through a comprehensive group of programs such as direct services, food sourcing and distribution; also nutrition and health education that combats hunger and its causes.

Big Dream.Big Screen – The ‘Unscripted’ Life of an Intern

Published by The Glit under New Glit

Rodney's main pic

Let’s rewind.

Eight months before Rodney Wilkins was standing beside director F. Gary Gray and actor Jamie Foxx at the Hollywood premiere of Law Abiding Citizens—he was standing on a cold Philadelphia set in the middle of the winter.  He had withdrawn from his film classes in L.A and headed to the East Coast with limited funds and no place to live for an opportunity that he couldn’t pass up.

It was the chance to intern with director F. Gary Gray on the set of Law Abiding Citizens. “I met Gary in a gym that I worked in. One day I just went up to him and said ‘can I work with you—doing whatever.”  Rodney worked on several small projects for Gary, but never a blockbuster film. “On the Law Abiding set I was a fly on the wall. I did whatever,” he said. “I was taking in everything. I wanted to know everything. There was so much to learn.”
Now, let’s fast forward.
Amongst some of the biggest names in the industry Rodney Wilkins found his name on the Big Screen in the closing credits of Law Abiding, and landed a spot on the red carpet. Big Dream!

Is Chris Brown Back in the Building?

Published by The Glit under News, Uncategorized

cb_3_600It’s simple for me. If we forgave R. Kelly for child molestation allegations, we can forgive Chris Breezy. But for others—it isn’t that simple.  When the public got a hold of the ‘Chrihanna’ debacle, many said Chris’ “good boy” image was tarnished forever —and even worse— his career was over. And for a second, I thought he was headed back to VA too. But yesterday, I was reminded that like me, the public is very forgiving. In his first radio interview on New York radio station Hot 97, Chris Brown discussed his undying love for Rihanna— his regret—his career—but more importantly— he premiered his new song “Crawl Back to Love,” and unlike his other new releases, I think this track will bring everyone right back to the heart and soul of young Breezy.  Ultimately, Chris is crawling right back into the spotlight.

mario dna album cover

Multi Platinum R&B singer Mario has been having great success with his fourth album entitled “D.N.A”. The album debuted in the U.S.  last Tuesday, October 13, 2009 and  is currently charting at #9 on the Billboard 200, #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart, and #15 on the Digital Albums Chart. Mario is definitely putting in the overtime to promote this album.  He celebrated the release last week at a few locations including, Pink Elephant in NYC. He will also be on The Wendy Williams Show tomorrow, “How You Doin”  lol! If you like quality music, then this album is definitely a must get!
