We leather lovers couldn’t get enough of the leather invasion this past fall/winter season!  With so many spicy leather finds, from pants , high waisted shorts and skirts, dresses, tops, rider pants and more, why reserve it for just the colder months. Gone are the days when we push leather to the back of our closets until the next fall/winter season. Now leather is a complete can-do in the spring/summer…Here’s how!

The key to fusing this audacious fashion trend into your summer wardrobe is to stick to bright and pastel colors, summer cuts, lighter weights, and to pair leather clothing with contrasting textures. When wearing leather in the summer, make sure that whatever the piece is, isn’t skin tight. For instance, leather shorts are a go in my book during the summer, but making sure they are a little loose fitting is the trick. Tight leather shorts will easily make you look cheap and desperate, so be sure to reserve some breathing room in them. Pair the shorts with a silk or satin blouse, loose v-neck tee or tank and finish it off with complimenting arm candy, and a pair of your fav sandals, kicks, or a pointed t-strap pump—which is also a big hit this summer.

Other great summer leather options are sleeveless/short sleeved leather peplum tops, which can be paired with a light colored or white jean, bright harem pants, boyfriend shorts, or a mini. You can also try loose leather tee’s, pleated or flowy leather skirts, leather midriff tops, cutout leather pieces, a lightweight leather dress, metallic leathers, laser cut leathers or any of these leather options in color. Still not convinced? I can show you better than I can tell you… Check out some summer leather inspiration from the gallery below!
